Looking for new music

Harun:
I was referring to their latest EP, Closure when making that BWP reference. I did't exactly mean that the EP as a whole was better than BWP, but some parts definitely remind me of it. BWP is probably my favorite Opeth album besides My Arms... and Orchid, so I was totally eargasming when I heard Closure for the first time.  Production-wise the Closure EP is pretty clear sounding. Drums and bass are recognzable. Guitars are crisp. Their previous album (which I could put up in mf! if you want) is a lot grittier and more black-metally, production and actual music-wise.

holy dang i did not know that
well that changes things

Dimmukane:
That's why I love that album, anyways.  The vibe it gives off is reflected by the nature of it's production.

Also, you'd probably like Titan.  Some dudes jammin' in their garage.  Except this time it sounds more like it was played on a porch out in the country somewhere.

Caspian:
Ugh, Opeth and Avenged Sevenfold in your charts? Horrible, man, horrible. Get some Cosmic Atrophy. Strange, twisted Death Metal, kind of like Demilich. Very alien and unusual (and far better then Opeth). Get Demilich while you're at it. Morbid Angel too, why not. Get "altars of madness". I guarantee after those three bands you'll never listen to Slipknot again. Seconding Dimmu's Titan rec, they're pretty freakin' awesome.

The Angelic Process would also be another band you should check out ASAP, basically the best elements of music all put together. Soaring vocals, huge riffs, massive distortion yet still really melodic. Best music ever, by a fairly long way.

Overall, though, my main recommendation would be to stop listening to Opeth, post haste.

Be My Head:
Kindly don't lump Opeth in with shite like Avenged Sevenfold and Slipknot.

Anyway, first impression of Ikuinen Kaamos...they sound like Nightingale with a guy puking out his lungs and some guy's generic singing voice.

Sorry, not enjoying.
