A Republic far, far Away.

A few things I'm apprehensive about:

1) Morality in an mmo that affects gameplay (?) or outcomes. Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation said it best that morality system in current games are polar. Save Child or Each Child's Brains. While some games do a good job of allowing you to just PICK the dialog choice that fits your character you're playing (Mass Effect)... we're talking about... You know,  Sith and Jedi here. Is there really much choice you can make as a Sith if you plan on BEING a Sith?

I guess the big thing is that we don't know much about how the game, the content, or the way the mechanics will work... but that doesn't stop me from worrying that'll turn out poorly.

2) Raiding.... I really hope this game isn't about end game raiding.... Let me paint a picture for you... Giant Rancor boss.... Trooper tanking, Jedi dps'ing, and another Jedi healing....

I really hope the game will evolve past the whole tank ---- Healer ----- dps ----- execute strategy from website type gameplay that we have in WoW.

Can anyone maybe relay what Galaxies was like when you approached level cap? Or what it was like in terms of what kept you logging on?

3) I really hope it isn't going to be an mmorpg like Guild Wars is an mmorpg. Where the only massive part about the game is the towns where you group up. I really hope we have a dynamic galaxy to play around in.

Any thoughts?

The original Galaxies build didn't have levels, it was a skill-based system. You leveled up skills in a base class, then there were certain prereqs for advanced classes. Man do I miss Creature Handler.

You can be surprised to see how much roughly 30 years of Expanded Universe lore can flesh out shades of good and evil. But it's a valid point. For instance, KOTOR was pretty damn binary.

I find that I can get by some Star Wars RPG titles without worrying very much about numbers. As for raid bosses, I'm sure they'll be more epic than anything else on the market.

Like Boro said for skill-based system, I'm hoping some of that gets into TOR.

I have hope. I think many other people have hope.

But lately he's just become another of the lowlifes in these parts, spending half his time in daddy's bar with the rest of them.

The hell? I could've sworn someone just thought about me. Maybe I should head on over to the bar down the street, see if Kyree is up in her room, hell, she wouldn't want to see me anyways, I'd probably just end up downstairs in the bar getting drunk off my ass and starting a fight with some new guy. Maybe that's what's best for the likes a me? Hell, I ain't gettin nowhere else on this godfersaken planet. I swear I'll get outta here someday.

Bioware have been making quite a big deal about this. They never stop going on about "Being in the Republic doesn't make you a good guy. Being in the Empire doesn't make you a bad guy" type stuff. At this point in time, it's actually possible to sympathise with the position the Sith are in.
