Just read through this entire thread (WHEW) and have a few things to mention, mostly referring to things that happened forever ago:

Alif 'dakamerap' is a feminist rap group from senegal. Very dancey, political and heavy hitting lyrically with a good taste of the west african sound.
Code: [Select]
http://www.badongo.com/file/7642101

Oh man, is there any possible way you could try uploading this again?  I know it didn't work well the first time, but I am currently missing Senegal very very much and would be sooo happy to hear a bit of senegalese music right now.

Also:

The Wayward Bus/Distant Plastic Trees, Get Lost, 69 Love Songs, i, Holiday, Charm of the Highway Strip, The House Of Tomorrow EP, DIstortion

plus the Pieces of April soundtrack which is Stephin Merritt with his various bands.

and the two full Future Bible Heroes albums (one's not ripped on my computer but I'm pretty sure it's in my CD binder).

If anyone wants just ask.

I recently lost all of my music, and so far i haven't been able to recover the charm of the highway strip, distant plastic trees, the wayward bus, or ANY future bible heroes.  and i'd love that pieces of april too!  so yes, if you were to upload any of those you would make this little camper incredibly glad.

I'll try to upload some stuff for everyone in the next couple days.  I have a lot of class work, which means I'll be doing a lot of procrastinating, which means I should have the time for it.

Ghosts I-IV by Nine Inch Nails
...

I know the first part was posted elsewhere, but I thought I would post the rest, and since I have OCD I couldn't post the rest without the first.  All are 320 kpbs, so rather large.  Just a warning, but it is easy to convert the files to a smaller format.

If anybody wants the apple lossless (600 megafxxkingbytes) I'll up it.
Hmm I'm wondering if such a "reverse request" is against the rules!?

My third post (with music in it)

Lis er Stille, meaning something like Lis (which is a womans name) Is Silent; Apathobvious

Code: [Select]
http://rapidshare.com/files/98507241/Lis_Er_Stille.zip
What ItsATrap has to say:
Quote
In a genre like post-rock, wherein the band at occasions hover, that often tends to go for the more rectifying way to approach its listeners, Lis er Stille always has an ace up the sleeves. Surprising turns, beautiful strings and a singer that, on this album, steps up a notch, are all ingredients that makes this record one of the more interesting I've heard this year. The fact that the piano plays a central part in their soundscape gives it an extra dimension and the similarities to Mogwai are not at all misguided. It is indeed hard to compete with those Scotsmen, but Lis er Stille can definitely consider themselves worthy opponents. A tune like "Lorelei" would make anyone in the genre jealous.

Sorry bout the rapidshare guys, my computer isn't that good friends with mediafire...

Rules:

No hotlinking images or albums. You can rehost images at http://imageshack.us.

Ensure your tags are correct and that you have specified both Artist/Album in your post.

Upload your files in either a .zip or a .rar archive to mediafire.com, in multiple parts if the album is over 100mbs. The reason for this is that we know Mediafire is safe and efficient, and allows multiple downloads. The ads on other sites, such as Sendspace, are known to contain viruses on the page. Get yourself checked out.

Post your link using code tags. It's the # icon above the policeman emoticon. This prevents the links from being traced back to the forums, lowering the chance that the wrong people notice the thread, potentially threatening Jeph with legal action.

Also, please do NOT request albums.

Exploding Hearts - Shattered
Power-pop/punk band. Imagine The Undertones playing Elf Power or Beulah

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?nzmch0zrtjg

Future Bible Heroes - Eternal Youth
Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields makes an electro-pop sideproject that is mostly female sung.
Is also awesome

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?83m5rk93nll

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Honey's Dead
The JAMC get a drummer after an album filled with drum machines and really poppy songs. They crank up the distortion and make songs about wanting to die like jesus

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?2vw02yhrtlm

Digitalism - Idealism

A couple German dudes are told to DJ a club night, not knowing what to do they cut up a few songs and rock out. Then they decide to make an album of rocking dance music

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?8wne3srmzyj

Jawbreaker - 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
Jawbreaker made awesome punk music, bitter, sad awesome punk music. This is the best album they made

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?6m95dmwmcdh

Luna - Romantica
Dude from Galaxie 500 makes a much poppier band. Probably the only valid use for "dream pop"

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?2gozw9hidwb

Michael Jackson - Thriller
Dudes, it's Thriller

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?3mtxovpxd41

Jets to Brazil - Perfecting Loneliness
Their last album, sad sad indie rock from former Jawbreaker frontman's new band.

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?dgiyxzgzo8u

Shit Robot - Triumph/Wrong Galaxy
Random electro band on DFA, they are pretty good, they have another single out now.

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?ebwg1hlolty

Soulwax - Any Minute Now
After their stint as 2 Many DJs, the Dewaele bros return to soulwax and uh, they rock out more. Really really solid dance music

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?4ibizb31o31

Soulwax - Nite Versions
After Any Minute Now, a number of more electronic versions of some of the songs began to appear in singles or comps, often labeled as "Nite Version", an homage to the glory days of the 12" single as a medium for dance or extended tracks during the 80s, specially those of Duran Duran, which had longer versions of their songs. Not remixes, but whole different takes with a different focus. A way to describe this album would be Soulwax the Electronic Band covering Soulwax the Rock Band. A number of songs from Any Minute Now are here in different forms, as well as some odds and sods and new stuff. Amusingly, the Nite Version of NY Excuse didn't make the album, instead they put NY Lipps(originally the NY Excuse Kawazaki Dub), a mashup of (possibly the nite version) of NY Excuse with Funkytown by Lipps Inc. and Another Excuse, a collaborative remix by Soulwax and the DFA. In any case, the album is awesome. This version is a rip of the unmixed vinyl version. The mixed version is better, and i uploaded it sometime, but it has been taken down

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?4gdu1gczxgt

Space Madness

This is a very early Ryan Adams band!

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?3ezvz3m32wb

Jesus and Mary CHain - Automatic

This is their third album, they couldn't get on with drummers or bass players so they went at it with drum machines. Some of their best ever songs like "Coast to Coast", the noise gets toned down a bit and the pop songs shine through

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?3ezvz3m32wb

The Three O'Clock - Sixteen Tambourines

Best Paisley Underground band. Imagine twee or cuddlecore or just plain ol' sensitive indie rock, but sweeter and lo-fier and fuzzier

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?71wjygwc4hr

String Quartet Tribute to Joy Division and New Order

Actually really good! This isn't one of those string tribute quartets where some dudes get paid like $50 to just record a lame version. You can tell these guys actually like them and they took the time to do some hella good arrangements, and even compose a new track on the same style. The Joy Division ttracks are good, but it is in the New Order ones where it shines the most.

What you get with Casua Sui is four Danes with a love of acid-based garage rock that draws as much from The Stooges as they do from Hendrix or Blue Cheer. Contemporary-wise, I get a strong Colour Haze vibe from these guys. Not so much that they’re cribbing the same sound (well, there are similarities), rather, the songs have that same organic feel to them. What’s cool about Causa Sui is that they manage to be heavy without a bombastic approach. Their self titled debut is filled with well-crafted songs, and if you’re looking for some stellar psychedelic playing with a rough edge, then these are the guys to go to.

Evergrey - In Search of Truth

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?ln33zlsbzkq
Quote from: All Music
The truth is out there. Evergrey's new album does have strong X-Files leanings. In fact, it is a concept album that deals with alien abduction. Rather than addressing the subject in a cheesy sort of universal mode, though, it is the story of one man's struggle to understand what is happening to him. The lyrics, and the strong delivery by vocalist Tom S. Englund, convey the confusion, fear, and sense of helplessness splendidly. And yes, there is also music. Actually, the music is very strong and powerful progressive metal -- think Queensryche, Iron Maiden, and King Diamond all rolled together. The instrumentation really adds to the storyline. At times it emphasizes, creates drama, and builds tension. The overall picture is that of a very well-crafted concept album that certainly should please fans of progressive metal.
Random note: I started the Wikipedia article for this album.

EDIT:
And now for something completely different from all my other uploads!
Girl Talk - Night Ripper

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?pbbjzwjzmnn
Quote from: All Music
Gregg Gillis has been cutting up and gluing bits and pieces of songs together as a DJ in Pittsburgh since his 2002 debut, Secret Diary, an album that, though a lot of easily identifiable samples (the Price Is Right theme, for example) were used, was so delayed and skipped and glitched that it was too obfuscated to do much in the mainstream. Such is not the case with Night Ripper, however, which, thanks to Gillis's ability to draw from a myriad of musical sources (the names of the artists used, though not their songs, are listed in alphabetical order inside the liner notes, and in fact make up the entirety of the liner notes), can appeal to anyone who's heard the radio (particularly rap radio) in the past few years. Because of the recognizability of the pieces used, Night Ripper is a good tool for showing listeners unfamiliar with the art of sampling what a talented DJ can actually do; Gillis' favorite trick on the album is to play a long vocal track, preferably something from the Ying Yang Twins or Ludacris, over rock (be it classic, indie, or grunge) beats, which he speeds up or slows down as necessary. It's pretty impressive, and at first listen, it's pretty fun. On the opener, "Once Again," Luda's "Pimpin' All Over the World" moves into the Twins' "Wait (The Whisper Song)" over the Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony," which then turns into Slim Thug's "I Ain't Heard of That" plus the acoustic guitar of Oasis's "Wonderwall," all of which ends with the Five Stairsteps' oft-sampled "O-o-h Child." Actually, "ends" is not really the right term, as the whole album works as one piece, the track titles only serving to help those more song-inclined not feel as if they are in foreign electronica territory, with its 50-minute sides and incomprehensible blips and bleeps.
I cut off the end of the review, because it turns negative.  I don't know why, this is good music.

Em, there's some more wrong with your links dude.

The Jawbreaker album and Any Minute Now by Soulwax are completely corrupt. The Exploding Hearts release is missing a few tracks, and the link for Automatic by TJAMC links to the Ryan Adams album, as does the Ryan Adams album link.

Thanks for the rest of the shit I grabbed and for bothering with these, though.

Is anyone else having trouble playing those two Presidents albums or is it just me? They downloaded and extracted fine, but Itunes just won't play them no matter how hard I try. Its listing them as Itunes files, but then i click them and it does... nothing.

i had the same problem.  =(

K so here is some good ol' DC post-hardcore.

Frodus - And We Washed Our Weapons in the Sea

In a sadly ironic twist, Frodus' final record is also easily their most stunning accomplishment. The Washington D.C.-based trio, whose early chaotic recordings spawned the term "spazzcore," have upped the musical and topical ante for their final album, and the result is a complex record that takes major steps forward and still never lets up on the frantic energy that helped make a name for them. "Red Bull of Juarez" and "The Awesome Machine" find the band still leading the way with jerky instrumentation and vocalist Shelby Cinca's explosive screams, but And We Washed Our Weapons in the Sea takes off in a number of other directions as well, and while unexpected, the ideas prove to be well backed up. Tracks like "The Earth Isn't Humming" and the deeply personal "6/99" (a reference to the passing of two individuals very close to the band) feature amazingly clear vocals and subdued but still evocative music. Instrumentals like the slowly creeping "Belgian Congo" or the experimental programming piece "Hull Crush Depth" prove that the can pull off a number of styles in an equally convincing manner. Powerfully affecting and surprisingly groundbreaking for such a pigeonholed act, And We Washed Our Weapons in the Sea is a perfect example of solid record that is unaffected by the constraints of any ridiculously implied genres. From the onset, Frodus attack their listeners, and, when all is said and done, there's no arguing that their final march to the sea is a true moment of triumph.

Hey Hey Party People!!!
First off, the new Gnarls Barkley Album was probably the most pleasant surprise I've had all week. I'm upping a quartet of <3 on you guys!

Albert React are some weird Emo-Punk band from my home town. Some of their songs are pretty blah, but more than a few tracks really hit home, for one reason for another. If you like the louder, more "epic"y Thursday tracks, these guys are worth a shot.

This is the newest Modest Mouse album, and I am seriously having a love affair with this disc. "Fire it Up" is just a really blatantly great song to smoke too, "Parting of te Sensory" is my favorite fight song ever, except for "Name of the Game" by Crystal Method, and to tell it true, the first time I listened to "Spitting Venom" I fell over and vomited up a mountain of fragrant rainbows, which wove themselves into a blanky of PURE LOVE.

I'm saying it's a really good song. If you listen to it, you can pretty much kind of figure what kind of person I am, because it's music exactly like this that really motivates to keep pirating, downloading, ripping and burning, just to find ANOTHER song that hits me as hard as this one.

I don't really know anything about SoaD other than the fact that they are Armenian, hate The Killers, and are awesome. Serj Tankian's solo album is basically everything I liked about SoaD but more refined and with more him and less of the shitty other guy. Big Ups =)

I love the Alkaline Trio. I had a ton of their music on mix CD's I just found were horribly stolen from my home by an ex, who had identical musical tastes to me. I'm not requesting anything, but if someone upped some Alkaline Trio by accident and I was around, I'd probably download it and dream the most magnificent things at you for a week =)

I am also formally requesting some Re-Ups. I was digging through the search log and discovered that someone long ago Sendspaced 65daysofstatic "The Fall of Math" I believe. I don't have that album, and would love for another opportunity to get it.

Furthermore, as it has been stated, it is a serious pain searching for Caspian Uploads on this forum with Caspian posting their great music all the time, but whosoever uploaded the EP and the other albums by the band Caspian, that'd be sweet if you could toss them back up.

C-Mon & Kypski - Static Traveller

Code: [Select]
http://www.mediafire.com/?ejjmo1ybz3i
From Last.FM:
Quote
C-Mon & Kypski is a four man band. They compose and produce their music in their own home studios. C-Mon & Kypski music goes from funk, rock to polka and is usually served with some hip-hop flavour. And all of this with a heavy dose of turntablism by Holland’s six times national turntable champion Kypski. Live on stage C-Mon & Kypski are unique when it comes performing their tracks. There is live sampling, live producing and changes of instruments.
Sometimes tracks are build-up from practically nothing and grow out to banging danceable scratch-music. The visuals which are done by VJ collective Subliminal Mess make the show complete. C-Mon & Kypski have already done a long tour for the promotion of their debut album ‘Vinyl Voodoo’ and are now on the road for the promotion of their new album ‘Static Traveller’.
They made a big impression at the South By Southwest Festival in Texas, during their first American tour.

With the record ‘Static Traveller’ the band has become musically even more extreme. The boundaries (if there are any) are being pushed forward. Where Vinyl Voodoo was a real studio album, Static traveller goes further; this album has been recorded with the whole band.

Captivating from the first moment, This album glides through nearly every genre of music with ease.

You don't want the Fall of Math, the other two albums are much better. Do you just want it for the cover art by any chance? The cover is neat.

Sox are you serious? I think that Fall of Math is actually one of the best records I've ever heard. I dunno, maybe thats just cause I like loud music, but still. Fall of Math is ridiculously good.

I'll try that and the Caspian within the next few days if nobody beats me to it. Which is highly likely.

Fall of Math was good. I'm a big fan. But 65daysofstatic only got stronger on each album. It makes no sense to me! The album everybody talks about and praises is their weakest effort!

"Yo dude, I love Band XYZ a fukTUN. I have all their albums accept this one!"
"Dude, even though you love this band and have all their other albums, dont get this album it is not their best album"
"Oh Okay, guess I dodged that bullet, kthxbai!"

Joking aside, Whether or not its a superior album remains to be seen by myself, All I know is that the "The Destruction of Small Ideals" and "One for All Time" are both basically integrated into my central nervous system at this point, so avoiding the 3rd album because it may or may not r0xx0rz is sketchy at best, although your warning is comepletely appreciated, so I know as to not listen to it and become horribly disapointed.

Also, yeah the cover art is BANGING.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

I actually thought their newest was their weakest effort. By no means was it a bad album, I just don't think it pars up to Fall of Math. That track with Circle Takes the Square they did was really bitchin though.

Caspian maybe tomorrow.
