I totally just read that and each character's voice said their lines in my head.  I'm rather proud that I could still get Boris and Natasha's voices after so long.  I'm also pretty proud of my head's Bullwinkle impersonation.  The Rocky voice was a little questionable, though.

Last Words Of: James French, convicted murderer

James French was already serving a life sentence in an Ohio prison in 1966 when he began to realize that life is a really long fucking time. Unwilling to complete his sentence and reportedly scared of suicide, he did the only logical thing: kill his cell mate in an effort to convince the state to execute him.

We're cool with someone wanting to be in control of their destiny, but did you have to be such a dick about it, James? Wouldn't a pretty-please-with-sugar-on-top-execute-me have sufficed? This was 1966 in Ohio, so all he really would have had to do is tell a guard "You know what I like? Black-white integration and homosexuality--lots of homosexuality!" and his fate would have been sealed well enough.

Regardless, these were his final words as being strapped into the electric chair. Puns aren't usually our thing, but pun + capital punishment = funny.

I think I'd forget what Rocky and Bullwinkle look like before I'd forget the voices. That series was so spartan visually that it was practically a radio show.

I found this:

Quote
The capybara is a fish. This may take some explaining...

Before the 1970s Vatican II Council, members of the Roman Catholic Church were not allowed to eat meat during Lent. Nowadays, meat is only restricted on Fridays during Lent. Now, the one thing you must be aware of is that fish is not meat. The Bible predates modern categories of animals, and meat does not imply muscle. So it is perfectly acceptable to eat fish during Lent.

In regions of South America, there is an animal, called a capybara, admirably defined in the other write-ups in this section. In the 1600s, for a particular group of Roman Catholics, the capybara was their primary food source. They really didn't have much else to eat, so giving up meat during Lent was a serious issue. It was so serious that the Pope in Rome declared, by papal authority, that the capybara was a fish. So let it be written, so let it be done.

I find the term "Pothead" rather pejorative.
Poor butt-hurt government can't make any money off of it, so they outlaw it.
Obama used to smoke pot. And now he's the president of the United Frikkin' States of America.
People can smoke pot and have a successful life.
Tired of the demonizing.

It wasn't that the government that was unable to make any money off it ... in fact, one of the first steps towards making marijuana illegal was the institution of a pretty hilariously high tax on it.  The reason why marijuana was made illegal was that hemp was threatening to infringe on the wood-paper business that William Randolph Hearst had a huge stake in, and he controlled enough of the newspaper and journalism industry that he had the perfect mouthpiece for releasing anti-hemp propaganda ... so he cooperated with a xenophobic government that wanted to further demonize Hispanic immigrants in order to pander to the racism of the time, and turned "cannabis" (a medicine that was accepted by the doctors of the time as valid) into "marijuana" (a "demon weed" that made white women desire fornication with Negroes and Mexicans, and turned white men into rapists and murderers).  It wasn't about the government not making any money.  It was about a select few private industrial interests shutting a low-cost option out of the paper, textile, and fuel industries in order to secure a hold on their market share, and a government pandering to these interests by appealing to a racist public and creating a way to turn blacks and Hispanics (the habitual users of marijuana at that time) into criminals in order to prevent them from successfully rising in society.

Comic about Anakin, C3P0, Darth Vader, and C3P0

That was oddly touching.

But I've always seen Anakin's nickname spelled Ani, not Annie.  Annie is the redhead orphan who sings cheesy songs in an annoying voice.
