I used to live in a place where no amount of extra tape would fix anything. It leaked through the roof (I had to have several buckets whenever it rained, which was pretty much all the time), I could see the outside through a number of gaps in the window and door frames and it was heavily slanted (the roof and the floor were slanted at different angles, too). There was tape all across the join between the walls and the ceiling. I didn't remove the tape to find out what it was doing because I was too afraid that it was important. I lived there for a year because I couldn't afford anything else.

My mom and stepdad had a party for their 10th anniversary. It was a lot of fun!

I bought a dress

Hung out with my stepdad

And took some pictures of his very cool new Telecaster. The dudes in the background are in his band, and the one in the kilt is my best friend's dad. Awesome!

Usually he plays an acoustic guitar (they do folky/bluegrass/country kind of stuff) but he'd just gotten the new one and wanted to play it. That's actually a loaner - it has a maple neck, and the guitar shop is bringing in a rosewood neck for him.

Plus, six string bass. I have one and playing it is like strapping another bassist to your chest and playing a giant bass that he is holding. Heavy and unwieldy. Something about having the strings so close together makes the tone fantastic, though. GEEK OUT.

Anyway, dude's gonna have issues with his back if it's anything like mine.

I have yet to understand a reason for a six string bass except to play guitar lines on the upper string. I have never felt that a sixth string would help me, whereas when I played with only four strings (long, long ago), I did feel that a fifth string would be useful.

That looks like a fun party.

Yay for Red Green, Yay for Duct Tape, and Yay for the Duct Tape episode of Mythbusters (which I happened to catch last night) which had a quick montage of many applications for Duct Tape, and Red Green was in it!

Yay for banjos! I had an English prof who played the banjo, and one time I happened to catch his band on Public Access on the cable, and they were great!

Yay for Allison, who looks fantastic!

Yay for cookouts and walks in the woods with pretty ladies!

Did I miss anything? Hmm... I guess that depends on how far back I go.

Yay for Lunchy, who looks amazing as always (but maybe a little scary in some of those)!

Guys I never thought I'd be the one saying this but the photo thread is now 166 pages long and there is way, way more happy than snappy and what snappy we do have isn't very interesting- certain gorgeous Australian ladies notwithstanding. It's ok, forum. This just means we are not the incurable photowhores we used to be!

But maybe we could have one of those times where we don't have a photothread for a while?

It's because nobody cares about that dumb "NO TALKING! TAKE IT TO PM!" rule anymore, man.
Look how happy everybody is without the complaining! This is the most awesome the photothread has ever been because it's totally okay to chatter in a thread about photos. Don't matter if the pictures aren't interesting all the time, nobody's forcing people to read it for entertainment. I like the relaxed atmosphere, let's keep it around.
