Fashion thread, I made a purchase today!

Isn't it BEAUTIFUL. I am in love. Might go back for a pair of black and white heels, but I don't know. Hooray vintage stores!

Nobo my only thing with that suit combo is that the tie gets abit lost between a white shirt and white waistcoat, however I'm really not sure how you could remedy it without having to change the waistcoat as well - so I guess I'll vote yes

I have a few different tie options to choose from, so I can make sure that the tie is a different texture or pattern of white so that it can stand out a bit.

I think the sweatervest thing is a little too snug to be considered appropriate interview attire, but the skirt is great!  do you have any form fitted, but not tight button down shirts to go with it?

I think I have a white one somewhere. However, all my clothes are a little tight around the chest, because I was graced with enough boob for about 3 people. Any tops I get are either too tight in the bust, or hugely baggy everywhere else.

Boobs. A blessing and a curse.

Hmmm....  Then maybe a suit jacket might work if you have one?  Even if your shirt is snug, the jacket will draw attention from your chest.

One of my best friends has a pretty great fashion blog, she's has a cool sense of style but she also has a pretty normal body shape/size so you don't necessarily look at it and go "Oh no! she's stick thin! I can't pull that off!" If anyone's interested I could link them to it. We talk about fashion a lot when her and I hang out, hehe.

PS: I scored some pretty wicked boots from a friend of mine. Free stuff, yeah! Pictures to come.

i bought a pair of shorts the other day. they are the only pair i own. i bought them because they were the only example of what i wanted that i could find anywhere around town and also they were super cheap. there is only one problem: they are too small in the waist (just barely) so i cannot button them. i have taken to zipping the fly all the way up and using a shoelace for a belt to keep the button down because the belt loops are ludicrously small and nothing bigger will fit.

Tyler is responsible for this outfit, which turned out to be a wonderful choice, because all the people I knew at the party (engagement party, mostly older people), told me how lovely/elegant/well-dressed I was. I need more things to wear these shoes with though. (Also, the cardigan thing came out a weird colour in those pictures. It does match the stockings though.)

So I went shopping with my friend tonight and we passed the fancy dresses in the store we were in and we decided to play the Lets Find the Ugliest Dress and Try It On game. Let's just say I never thought I would actually find anything as horrible as I found tonight. Photographic evidence:

Yes, that's right. It's a strapless (those straps are my bra) animal print gauzy thing over pantlegs. It is all one piece. I thought it was a dress, but boy, was I wrong. My friend and I were dying. The other women in the dressing room poked their heads out to see what was so funny and they too laughed their asses off. Let's just say if I ever go to a roller disco, I have found my outfit. But I still probably wouldn't wear it due to the fact that it's one of the ugliest things I have ever seen. But I got major laughs out of this.

The only outfit that is acceptable for roller discos is a polyester jumpsuit.

That is a jumpsuit. I think it's probably rayon and spandex or something like that, but it's still a jumpsuit. I guess you could add glitter or something to make it more 70s, but that'd just make it more ugly. But then again, that'd be the point of the game.

Hats: Y/N what kind?

I just came into the thread to ask about a hat!

I have recently adopted my mother's sun hat, to very mixed reviews. I think that it is the perfect picnic accessory, but not everyone agrees.

Fashionistas/-os, what is your verdict? Can I pull it off?

Also Linds that dress/thing is amazing.

It looks nice, and seems to go well with that dress, but it also looks too small for your head? In that photo it looks like it is kinda perched on the top of your head, when it should sit further down onto your forehead, kinda like this:

Hat is too small but actually I kind of like it perched, you should only ever wear it if you are wearing those sunglasses too, definitely good for picnics, boat rides, strolls along boardwalks, being my girlfriend.

Yeah, the hat is too small, but upon consideration I think it does sit a bit further forward on my head than shown in that picture. I decided that I'd rock it anyway.
I also love those sunglasses but I'm kind of useless in them because I don't have contacts, so I'm walking around with uncorrected -4.00 eyesight. Oh well!

SirJuggles (sorry, I don't know your name), I will lend you some of my head girth so both of our hats fit perfectly. I'm tired of 90% of women's hats not fitting properly. Deal?
Alternatively, I don't know a whole lot about men's hats, but for those who do, would tilting it back a touch help?

Haha actually my head is gigantic, that hat is an extra-large because we found out a medium came nowhere near close to fitting me. I'm not sure about tilting it back, though I tend to have a big forehead when I leave it uncovered  :|
