Andy, I like the blazer thing and I agree with Liz about wearing them with skinnys and heels. I dunno about baggy men's jeans, though. Maybe you could try "boyfriend" style jeans? Those are more relaxed if you want looser jeans. But if you really want a pair of men's jeans, as long as there isn't too much bagginess in the crotch, I think you'll look ok.

Whenever I see girls wearing guy pants, or like, pajama pants/sweat pants in public not to like the store or something (I mean wearing them to school, going out to a movie) I figure that they are either a juggalette or a gangsta and instantly judge. I know I shouldn't but so far most of the girls I have seen in baggy dude pants have not disappointed my expectations.

Also, I was going to show you guys what these pants look like on me and I discovered that the boy that I was taking them from took them back >:C

I know I can't pull off the look of baggy mens' jeans, but power to you if you can. I go by the rule of top or bottom should be at least moderately form fitting, never both (unless you are super skinny and can rock that, again, I just look like trailer trash) and never neither.

I like 'baggy' pants, in that I usually go for pants (and even sometimes jeans) cut in this way:

It is more flattering for me, and more comfortable for me than the bizarre trend of jeans being so low you can see my ass crack or so high up they get hung on my bra.

I am a big fan of little blazers, but man it is so hard to find one that fits you right. As long as it's shape-defining, you are going to probably look sharp rather than like a business-dyke, but to be safe you could wear skinny pants. I guess you could wear heels, too, but that outfit sounds uncomfortable to me.

If you can find one that fits in the shoulders, all you need is a tailor.  I get all of my jackets tailored, because they're the most expensive part of my outfit (I have never found a decent blazer at a thrift store, unfortunately), and one size fits all people with my size shoulders is not sufficient.  Everybody should get their blazers tailored.

boyfriend-style jeans are probably a better choice than guy jeans for women who like baggy pants because they are actually styled to sit on lady hips and give a little shape in that area while remaining relaxed throughout the leg, whereas men's jeans are for the most part designed to sit on skinny man hips and for the most part have ended up pretty shapeless and unflattering on most girls i've seen.

in the end you wear whatever you like though and if you like how you look in men's clothes, wear men's clothes! lately i go back and forth between dressing really feminine and dressing really masculine depending on how i feel that day and i think i look pretty dang sharp either way. i don't think looking good necessarily means having to dress conventionally like your gender. you can just look good, period.

I am sort of iffy on the coat, I like the cut but it'd be better in a less busy pattern

I was gonna take pictures of outfits I have been wearing regularily lately but got lazy and gave up so here is two

(this is basically my standard now)
(alternatively: http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj156/Sneakers_King/IMG_1662.jpg I wear this more often.)

However this post is really just about my new doc martins

I'm glad Dovey said it before I had to.

So, I've owned this shirt for quite a few months now, and while wearing it at the store today I got quite a few good comments on it. One of the regulars even took a picture and used it to replace a picture of his wife as his background.
I have never been happier with my decision to buy a shirt.

a question for everyone - how many pairs of pants do you own that you wear somewhat regularily? specifically, how many pairs of jeans?

i have absolutely no idea what the standard is for this, for some reason i have always been super weird with pants and in the last few years i have only ever owned maybe two pairs of jeans at any given time that i alternate between. now that i am not in school i have gotten into the habit of buying more pants and i guess i have about four pairs now that i wear semi-often, three of which are jeans. yesterday i was eyeing a pair of black jeans that i really wanted to buy but i walked away from them instead because i said to myself "no, i can't buy those, i have... three pairs of jeans already" and it suddenly occured to me that maybe that's actually a really low number and i wouldn't have any idea because i just don't seem to ever buy pants or discuss things like pant quantities with anyone for some reason.

so guys what is an acceptable amount of jeans for someone who wants to be sort of well dressed to own? should i buy those jeans anyway? i would have to hem them but they made my butt look really stellar.

Completly agreed.

I have about 6 pairs tops? I just got quite a few because they were on sale (two for one). Also if you want to get a few more pairs of jeans where is the harm in it, as long as you don't bankrupt yourself.

Pretty regularly?  I probably wear four pairs of jeans and four pairs of slacks.  Sometimes I wear a pair of less fashionable but thick jeans if I'm going to be riding my motorcycle a lot.  I have a lot more pairs of trousers, but I don't wear most of them very often.  I just haven't gotten rid of the ones that aren't very good.

I have like four pair that I wear regularly. I was wearing each pair for a few weeks at a time, but recently I keep spilling stuff on myself, so I switch to the clean pairs more often. I have three pair (one white, one blue, one black) that I only wear with heels or whatever because I never got them hemmed and they were more expensive anyway.

I actually probably own upwards of ten pairs of jeans, but I have been cycling most of them out because I recently got sick of gappy waistbands. Also I think I have just always had more jeans than the average person because two-thirds of them were work-jeans because I would destroy them working with ponies.

I guess I have four pairs that I alternate between, plus three that sit in my drawer and are only worn on laundry day because they suck. I'd say you're pretty average on jeans numbers, but nothing says you can't have black jeans too.

I have three pairs of jeans, one of which is bright blue and I don't wear that often (because most of my t-shirts are pretty bright or blue). On top of that I have two Uniqlo jeans (which are amazing, great fit, have lasted me a really long time, and relatively cheap). I wear these two pretty much all the time, because they're supper comfy and look great. I've had more compliments on these jeans than any other item of clothing I've had that wasn't shoes. Which is kinda weird, because I feel like people don't usually pay attention to pants.

So I really just have two jeans I guess?

I have about a dozen pairs of trousers and skirts all together, but I only really wear two pairs of jeans on a regular basis. I think that's fairly common, but I read about someone who has several hundred pairs (I think it was like, someone who makes them though).

Due to various stages of weight gain I at one point had maybe 8 or 9 pairs of jeans, on 2 of which fit. Now I got rid of all of them except 3 pairs, of which I wear 1 maybe 2. But its been 6 months since its been cool enough to wear jeans. Ghetto plaid shorts ftw. Got about 5 pairs of those.

I've got 2 pairs that I wear regularly, both in some sort of disrepair. Both are also too big on me by about 4" around the waist. I have one more pair that are in pretty good shape for when I need to look presentable (like a guy with my hair/beard length could ever look presentable).

Jeans are my staple clothing item, and I've got about 6 pairs that I wear regularly, but the ones I wear most often are the AE 77 Straight, aka best fitting jean I've ever had.
