I don't know man, I'm not sure it would suit you. Maybe try piercing your ears first. You need a certain kind of face to pull off stretches and I'm wondering if your face might be a touch too narrow for it to work.

Honest opinions people, can a redhead pull off burnt orange? Or is this just a really terrible idea. I like the shape but not sure that the color or top is flattering.

EDIT- this one has another orange shade for comparison in the star there

I think you can pull it off if you wear accessories that have other colors, especially earth toned ones.

You hate them? Really? I've never found any sort of glasses to be particularly offensive.

To me, those frames say "I prefer my glasses to my features". I am certainly way off the mark, but alas, it's an assumption I have been making for years and shall probably continue to make for years to come. I just don't think they look confident. Bold, in some instances, but not confident. The bigger your frames are, the more insecurities I tend to assume you're hiding.
The more I think about this, it actually holds true for just about everybody I have ever met.

I don't believe in accessories that obscure the human face. There's gonna be a reason for those kind of accessories, and those reasons are usually suspicious.
What do you have to hide? Your face? Why? Just don't like it? Bullshit! Either you're about to rob a bank, or you have a huge zit, either way, I have a RIGHT to know.

Man I actually wear those glasses because I think they draw attention to my sort of plain face by being so bold, and make me look really geeky (which I am).
I am also instantly attracted to any dudes and ladies I see out and about with similar shades. I just think they are super hot. I apologise.

Please see my super hot friend Matheson:

I gotta agree with Lunchy.

It seems to me that the glasses kinda draw attention to the face, in a good way. Also, they say "I'm smart and possibly quirky in a good way, and you want to talk to me and stare at my face."

Yeah, my problem with those glasses is that they try really hard to say "I'm quirky and geeky so you should look at me and find me cute because I'm obviously so awkward!" Whereas they kind of just look like you're buying into that whole geek chic bullshit thing that the magazines are spruiking these days. Lunchy and her Matheson friend can pull it off because they are actually good looking enough for them to be attractive despite those glasses. Everyone else looks really dated and stupid, especially Taylor Swift because those glasses were chosen specifically to say "Look. Look how plain I am." for her video clip for her boring music.

I need new glasses (as in the prescription needs to be strengthened). Should I get some new frames as well?

But, yeah, talking about those kind of frames, I guess I just like wearing those kind of glasses? I think they look pretty good on me.

I need to get new frames when I get new glasses. I have had the red ones for a fair few years now (3? 4?) and while I like them, I think it is time to change. I am thinking of getting maybe dark tortoise shell frames that are a bit rounder than my ones at the moment. I have an image of the perfect glasses in my head, but I just haven't seen any out in store just yet. Annoying.

Also, I think that most of the time I look better with glasses than without them. I also think that these (bright, plastic) frames suit me better than the metal frames I got when I first started wearing them. The metal frames worked well enough when I was younger, but I don't think I want to go back to some like that any more. Glasses are obviously something that most people put a fair amount of thought into, especially if you are like me (or lunchy, or jimmy) and wear them for the majority of the time. I don't think I would be able to pull off frames like lunchy's but the more I see of her wearing them, the more I like them on her. If she likes them, then who cares?

Out of all those people only Matheson actually looks good in those glasses, which kind of demonstrates the rather hit or miss quality of them.

The idea that Lunchy has a "sort of plain face" is hilarious to me.

I agree.  I've never liked that type of frame & have always thought of the resurgence of popularity it's been getting lately as a "look what I can get away with" sort of thing.  But then again I've also just started putting these sorts of things down to me becoming a cantankerous old geezer who hates everything.

Jimmy, maybe it's just 'cos I think I've only really seen you wearing your current glasses, but I think they are really great.  If you're going to get different frames maybe choose something a little different but not too much?  I dunno, some sort of subtle thing.

I need new glasses simply because my current ones like to fall off my face a lot, which is not good! But I have yet to find a pair as fun as the ones I'm wearing. I don't feel like I can wear dark frames, even though I love the style Lunchy has.

Also, Darryl, some of us aren't trying to hide anything! Some people don't like touching their eyes, which makes contacts impossible. (Those people weird me out, actually.) Some of us just find contacts irritating. (I do not like the sensation that my eyeballs feel like they are made of glass! It's really weird!) And some people are also scared of having lasers being shot into our eyes! (I once watched a video of the surgery when it first became popular and they used to cut your lens off! Gross! Put me off the whole thing, even though they don't do it anymore.) And since contacts and lasers are not an option, that makes glasses pretty rad because they keep me from running into walls and stuff!

I'm going to try contacts again, I think. I'm tired of how quickly glasses get dirty, and I can't wear my glasses doing parkour, which makes it fun to try to gauge distances. Anyone have advice on how to make sure you don't wear them too long before your eyes are used to them?

My boyfriend wears thick rimmed glasses, I REALLY like them on men & women.

He looks weird without them:

(Athough I kind of love this picture because only I get to see him without glasses a lot.)

These are my old glasses, which I lost. I liked them a lot. I think because I have stupid big facial features I can get away with putting big ole glasses on it.

Man I am completely down with the thick-rimmed glasses crowd - at least, I am pretty sure they suit me much better. Compare this to this, for instance. And yeah you can argue that their increased popularity has come from the rise in geek-chic/the new hegemony of a certain sub-culture in the world of fashion but um I guess welcome to how fashion works?

And some people are also scared of having lasers being shot into our eyes! (I once watched a video of the surgery when it first became popular and they used to cut your lens off! Gross! Put me off the whole thing, even though they don't do it anymore.)

Oh, but they do still cut your eye for Lasik, which is more popular than PRK. They slice a flap off your cornea and fold it back before they do all the awesome laser stuff. Then they flip it back down. This is why my husband, who is extremely near sighted, won't have Lasik done even though his glasses frustrate him.

Pro tip: When you're buying new lenses, ask about permanent hydrophobic lens coatings! Water will bead on your glasses instead of smear. Oils are repelled so fingerprints etc are easier to clean off without leaving smudges. Awesome.
