Yeah I got a lot of time for Justin Timberlake too but I'd like to do something about the persistent fallacy that says that he is very well dressed

There is nothing wrong with this outfit save the goofy face.

The second one is a bit sloppy but not offensive.

Am I the only one who associates Timberlake with Edward Norton based on facial structure?

That is a shmozzle of different looks.  Like, jeans, casual belt & leather jacket ok, but putting an office shirt, tie and vest underneath clashes like hell.

So, I know that in general t-shirts should be worn untucked, but I was wondering if an exception can be made for white t-shirts. Worn with jeans and a belt, it seems like it would look all right, maybe a bit reminiscent of the '50s and '60s, but that isn't a bad thing.

It's a pretty boring wallet, to be honest.

I had the brown version for years. Durable as hell and you won't turn into one of those people that stuffs their wallets so full of crap that it looks like you're trying to smuggle something. And really, all that I ask of my wallets is that they don't detract from any of the stuff I do care about.

Nonsense Switty, that is a sweet wallet

(I have the brown one too)

Nodaisho, if tucking yr t-shirt all the way in doesn't work out, consider the front-tuck or just tucking behind yr belt-buckle (also runs a serious risk of looking like a douche)

Guys I have to wear a black suit + white shirt + white tie to our graduation I don't have a black suit or a white shirt what do I do?

I mean, I can't see myself wearing a black suit ever again, do I rent it? Is that even possible?

I guess I should have a white shirt though, that's not unreasonable.

Get a friend/matronly figure who knows how to measure to measure you, then order a cheap thing from sears and it should fit decently well enough. My prom suit was a $100 thing from sears that was jacket, pants, shirt, and tie, though I wore a different shirt and tie beneath it.
$100 is not strictly trivial, but if you get something that isn't too showy, then you've got yourself a nice simple black suit to wear to fancy job interviews or balls or whatever. It's not a bad idea to simply have a nice suit jacket.

Yeah ot is a pretty nice wallet I guess. It also doesn't have snaps that will wear out my back pockets, which I guess is a plus.

Also how fashionable is it to move into a house? If it's pretty fashionable I can post pics.

That is really weird that they are telling you exactly the colours that you have to wear to yr graduation. What kind of school is this?

(also strictly speaking "white tie" as a dress code means tails and a dickie. I'm assuming they don't want you to wear that though)

My uni not only insists on black skirt/trousers, white shirt and I think black tie but also specifies shoe style and sock colour. Your shirt can't be too fancy and your hair has to be neat and nondescript and boy do they enforce these rules. I think lots of places do it outside of America (and apparently Australia). Certainly here graduation is more about being one group for the final time (ergo looking the same) rather than being lots of individuals going out into the world (ergo looking different).

It's also a public university from a country where most schools still have a dress code.

Yeah they don't want us to wear tails and stuff, we're already wearing a gown that makes us look like asses.

They're also charging us to go to the graduation ceremony, and we have to rent the gown ourselves.

Guys it is summer now and I have never had a fashionable summer. This is my first summer where I have actually cared how I look and I have been dressing really preppy lately and it is nice. But here is a question: are embroidered shorts okay?
I want to say they are not but then part of me says they are. Help me.

Good alternatives to shorts if you're going for preppy and well-put-together are slim fit capris (3/4 length pants with drawstring legs) and slacks or chinos rolled up to mid-calf or a bit below the knee (this works for jeans too). Bermuda shorts and a button up are cool if you are secure enough to pull it off (although looking even more like an English school boy is probably not something you should aim for).

Invest in some Topsiders and you're set for summer prep.

As for embroidered shorts, that's tricky.

Personally, I like them, but they're pretty popular with douchebags. Make your own judgement call. If you go for it, get them in navy with white embroidery or something and not in that nasty beige color.

To be honest, I've been looking more and more douchebag every day. Short shorts and polo/button up and Rainbows. But I really don't care, it keeps me cool and girls like it.

And yes, capris are always good, as well as roll-ups.
And yes, I do need some topsiders. I am so broke, though.

We're coming up on July, which means I'm probably due for a new pair of tennis shoes (I'm down to one pair anyway, as I ruined my PF Flyers with massive amounts of mud while drunk in Washington earlier this month).  Looking around on Zappos, I've found some stuff I like:

Pro-Keds Royal CVO
Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 81
Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66
PF Flyers Bob Cousy All-American (had a pair of these in natural, which were the ones ruined by the mud)
PF Flyers Glide
PF Flyers Boxcut Center
Diesel Victory-10

How does one even sell out with their own style? Nobody is paying him huge bucks to change. Fashion tastes change. I know mine have pretty drastically over the past 10 years.

Personally, I don't think I like embroidered shorts. But if you like them, go for it. I think you may look better in rolled up pants, though. But it's summer and it's hot, so who gives a fuck as long as you're comfortable.
