those are really sick shoes. i am not nearly nerdy or rich enough to ever buy them but if i saw those on another person i would pretty much just gush uncontrollably over how awesome their shoes were until they got too uncomfortable and weirded out and finally told me to fuck off. dang those are fantastic shoes.

Dear blag,

I found out that there's open mic nights every Thursday night at this newish wine/beer bar here in town. I want to apply for work there, and it's possible now that I am 21, but I also want to do the open mic stuff each week. DILEMMA.

All of those shoes are okay except for the fucking drawings on them. The majority is also way too bright.

Hey guys, this Friday, I'm getting paid to play music in a club. I hesitate to say DJ because they're expecting me to play 'indie' music. I put indie music in quotes because what that means is music like the killers and the strokes and shit. But whatever, I am getting paid so I am not going to complain.

It's also possibly the shittest club in Edinburgh, but like I said: I am getting paid.

So it appears that when I agreed to collaborate with another professor it meant that on top of the research I'm doing with her I also get to train a bunch of engineers in microbiology/asceptic technique! On top of that it also meant that I had to figure out how to do some basic molecular biology in Staph aureus, which I don't know anything about! Wooooooo.

(Hey, Nick, is there any chance that you know anything about expression vectors for S. aureus?)

I also learned about Frank Turner. That guy is the fucking man.

This is completely true. I had such a good experience at his show last night that I am going to see him play at a different bar tonight. Dude has amazing stage presence and he's just a nice fella. Signed my CD, chatted with my friend and me for a while. It was lovely. I am, however, pretty hung over. Not fun at all.

Okay, fine. Espionage is the shittest club in Edinburgh. I'm playing at City though, which gives it a thorough run for its money (to be completely honest, I haven't been there since being a fresher either, mainly cause the bouncers wouldn't let me in because I only had a Belgian ID card and then my friend threw stuff and shouted at them).

Enrolling in my courses for BMedSC Semester 1 has been so dramatic because UNSW opened a new Medicinal Chemistry degree. There are like a 100+ students doing this course so a lot of places in Perspectives in Medical Science (SCIF) and Higher Chemistry, the former is compulsory for most sciences and the latter is compulsory for MedChem. Luckily I got one of the few remaining place in Higher Chemistry so I don't have to sit Essentials of Chemistry (Yr11/12 chem again).
In addition to this, the tutorial for SCIF clashed with the Stats for Life and Social Sciences so I had to go into Uni today to the Science Students office and get it sorted out. Misunderstandings were had and lengthy phone calls were made. Now I'm in a tutorial that was already full.
Oh well, at least I'm getting the SCIF course out of the way now so I can do NeuroPsych or maths or electricity and photonics next semester.

Violins are not that small! Actually they are a lot easier on your hand than larger stringed instruments, you guys are just used to larger necks. (Or maybe you just have giant hands, who knows.) Also playing the violin and cello made me hate frets. Seriously, fuck frets. They get in the way.

Blog thread, how are you doing? I'm doing ok. I'm not homicidal nor feel like hiding in my bed anymore, but I do feel like I'm missing something. It could be an organ, but you can't really look and see if you're missing an organ, but there aren't any scars, so I'm sure no one has run off with a kidney. Also I got a haircut Saturday and the lady who did my hair took forever and I ended up with far less hair than I intended. My head gets really cold when I walk outside now, so I can't do fun things with it because I have to mush it under a hat.

It's in my beard.  Enough of it has popped up in the last year or so that it's no longer "Huh, I have a couple of mutant hairs" but rather I have two small white patches.  One on each side of my chin.    My head is still just random ones here and there, however, the frequency at which they are popping up means that density will inevitably increase soon.    I figure I have about two-three more years before I'm full blown grey at the temples.

So remember how I talked about Langhorne Slim and how pumped I was? And also remember how I was talking about this punk rock dude who got ran over and left for dead in the middle of the road in the dead of winter?

I went to the show and it was awesome. Partway through, who do I see but goddamn Bohmer all up in a back brace, a neck brace, an arm cast and a super serious cut to the head! Here is a picture of the top of his head, mostly to see how bad it is. For some reason the VA didn't buzz the back of his head so he's got a totally rad mullet. Saturday there will be a benefit for him, and a shit ton of awesome bands donated a shit ton of crap for it.

All ages portion at the VFW 5-9 with silent auction and raffle..prizes donated by local businesses and friends including gift certificates for Tattoos,Haircuts and salon services, A bottle of Crystal Head Vodka, a new skateboard valued at over $200..autographed merch. and gifts donated by Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music, Against Me!, No Idea Records, Whiskey and co.,Jawbreaker, and This bike is a Pipe Bomb..free food will be provided by local restaurants and bakeries...There will also be an awesome show bake sale going on throughout the entire evening
I can't remember which, but one of those bands is offering the a first run autographed copy of their first album, and the sleeve is hand silkscreened.

So it turns out I didn't do as painfully badly in my tort mock as I thought! I got 62% and 61% on the two questions, which is just a 2:1, meaning that I did better on tort than on Constitutional (low 2:2). I missed out a load of stuff and wrote some rubbish but I'm so relieved that I didn't fail or get a low 3.

Now to start on some work! I've had two days off and it's time to get going again.

I have seriously lost my girlfriend. I have no idea where she is!

I mean she is tiny but this is kind of ridiculous guys.

(yes I looked in the couch cushions)

This as of right now is probably my favorite post on these here forums.

I would have waited more than two days dude. Also maybe this is not the best place for this, considering she's been a sadster lately, and she's gonna read that, and I doubt it'd make her happy at all. Mostly I'm worried about Board Drama. People who have been dating here have broken up, and I'm sure it sometimes wasn't amicable, but they kept the drama away from the board. Sorry dude.

What about orgasmic chemistry.

I can expand the definition of that if anyone wants to roll around to my Fortress of Love.

Could we have a character limit on requests for relationship advice?  Sort of like relationship twitter?

We could call it "Twitationship Advice"!

This is a truth I mean you could be complaining about someone I legitimately despise and I would be like "Man, no, sorry, that is the worst post of the month, you gotta get some sack and think about your decisions before you make them."

Unfortunately, Anna is fairly rad so you a bitch.

Hello bloggy thread. I'm new here, but I need to get this out somewhere and someone who used to be very dear to me said this was a good place.

Dude you sound like a big gay baby. Maybe she was so afraid of the shit you're pulling right now she just cut you out of her life. Sorry your relationship didn't turn out the way you hoped but you gotta pull yourself together and cut this shit out.

Troll, start making t-shirts that say "Big Gay Baby" right now.  I will buy 5.  In a medium.
