English lit today was so rad, we talked about easily my favourite piece we have read all year (David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly), and afterwards I talked to a cute girl and we are maybe having hangouts on sunday. And then I went to have lunch with some other people and we talked about movies and then I picked up Assassin's Creed 2! Though I am not sure if I want to play any more xbox until we get a new TV, the one we are playing on currently is pretty old so you really have to make an effort to read anything on the screen (which is a crying shame in Dragon Age as well) and I just don't want to spoil any more games by getting pissed off at the stupid television.

Especially with AC:2, because the game is much better with subtitles (as there's a lot of italian), so there is much reading.

I read M. Butterfly last year. I found it just okay, the writing didn't leap out at me a lot, but the story is a lot of fun.

When I went to Warped this summer, my friends brought one of their friends, who I'd never met. I thought she was kinda cute, and had a bit of a crush on her, but she had a boyfriend.

We started talking again about how we never hang out about a week ago, and she stopped by work today right as my shift ended and gave me a ride home. Also mentioned she was single now.

*whistle* When I get paid, I'm planning on asking her out on a proper date-like thing. Dinner and a movie?

Tonight was the best night the play has had so far; I'm pretty sure we had a few people giving a standing ovation at the end and there was more laughter and applause than we've had any other night. Tomorrow will be amazing if they can keep this up.

It's also a function of the audience.  The audience on Friday and Saturday night is usually much better than other nights.  Sunday matinee, though, is the worst thing ever.  Man, I've played pit for faaaar too many musicals.  The money wasn't even as good as it should have been.

Can I just say that this is how you Do It Right.

Maybe the reason so many of you people have problems with The Friend Zone and Unclear Signals is because there's too much "let's hang out" and not enough sacking up and actually making your intentions clear by asking for a Real Date?

Woo MTG tournament!

Last night we didn't get to our lodging until a bit after midnight. Then we both stayed up for a bit. Then I could not sleep at all.

Then we drove for around 4 hours. And I couldn't sleep then either. But eventually feel asleep. The boys stayed up, driving and being nerds* at each other. Then we arrived in Springfield and I was woken up for a hot dog and orange juice. The boys ate 2 cheeseburgers and drank a monster each.

Then we made our way into the building and they registered. Both boys were very nervous and out of it when talking to the judge. They registered some cards and gave the decks back to the judge. Then they were given boxes with other people's registered cards in them and are now building deck from them. Both are very serious and have not even looked up from their cards. The whole room is very serious. Before everybody was loud and talking and laughing, and now it is very serious.

The is one girl playing, and four young kids(8-11) and there is a dad and his son who is like 5! Its very interesting. I am the only girlfriend sticking around to watch.

However, serious MTG playing friends and very serious.

Oh oh! Also! There is an old rival here as well! He greeted us as we walked in. Then we were sitting on opposite sides of the room, and he laughed this very loud laugh, and my boyfriend pulled me close and explained who he is and how his laugh is very noticable. Apparently, once they were all playing together on opposite teams, and this guy and a friend were playing against my boyfriend and his friend we are here with today, and this dude was just kicking their ass, and it was their turn and they were making plans on what to do, and he mocked them and told them to hurry up, and then they just laid down a bunch of stuff and kicked his ass! Apparently, since then they have been rivals.

earlier this evening i found chapelle's show while channel surfing. i left it on to internet and play some games... the channel hasn't changed and it went to church. i left it on seeing how long this church program will last for... that was at 10. it's 1:30 now. I have been listening to a sermon basically for three and a half hours. it makes me less religious than i already was.

edit: 2:30 now, this is like atheist penance or something
edit2: the Beast can come this December, and that would really take some people by surprise, wouldn't it? blah blah the mark of the beast won't be ON our foreheads but IN our foreheads OH SHIT now it's just reading Genesis 4:36, which this program is saying is talking about how the races were created, wait now it said 1:46 KEEP YOUR CHAPTERS STRAIGHT
oh i want to die
edit3: "many people get jealous of those with the Truth" waaaaaaaaaaat. it is now 4:12am and oh my gosh Revelations is more hilarious than i thought before. This dude keeps talking shit about other Christians, like when you pray you don't say "jesus, if you can"  OF COURSE JESUS CAN, he is JESUS and he can DO ANYTHING
wanting to die more than before now

Dear Blod thread,

One more day tomorrow and then I'm on end of year break. Yaaaaaaaaaay. I should probably be getting some storyboards done and other stuff but I've been playing L4D2 for most of the day and watching Glee.

Also, I miss my girlfriend but I think it's too early in the relationship to tell her that so I'll just wait until I see her again in a few days.

Blaggy,

I got a job today! It is excellent. Night shift, union job, and I work while the place is closed. Sweet.

But also kind of insulting! They have a scale there in the conference room where they were making me and the other new hire wait for our supervisor, so I decided to see how much I weigh. I stepped on it. It broke. These things are meant to like withstand  300 pounds and there is no way I am that fat. No way.

I can't decide if that was a very clever word-play joke or actually someone who does not know their Christmas songs.

Today I woke up at 2.30! I could have gone back to sleep for a bit longer but I have ice hockey at 6.30 and I didn't want to sleep through it. I think I needed the sleep though, I didn't get to bed until 6am.

The show's closing night was pretty good, but it got messed up because as a last-night joke the LD projected pink hearts onto the backdrop in a totally inappropriate scene between the two main characters. A lot of the technical crew had been in on the joke so when the directors stormed backstage absolutely furious we all got it in the neck (but primarily me because they hold me personally responsible for everything). To be honest although I could sort of see what they meant about it looking stupid, I think they overreacted completely - the assistant director told our producer to tell us that we were not welcome at the after-show dinner. We ended up going anyway because we'd already ordered and we would have had to pay even if we didn't go, but I just thought that was incredibly petty. We'd done something stupid and apologised for it, and it was during the first half so frankly the audience probably wouldn't even remember it by the end. But they'd been acting like this for the entire play; I think it didn't occur to them that it was just one student play which in a month no one would even remember about.

Anyway. It kind of spoilt the night for everyone, and I wish on reflection we hadn't done it. It meant that the more subtle things we'd planned, like silly pictures on the insides of documents that only the cast saw or green Kool-Aid in bottles meant to be wine bottles had to be pulled because the directors were furious enough already, and I don't think they would have noticed those. Also they only spoke to me after that to tell me that they had cleaned the dressing room and was there anything else they needed to do (asked in a voice that made it clear that they were disapproving of us all sitting round chatting while the late show finished on stage). I never really got to be friends with them anyway, the whole cast and directors were very cliquey and didn't really speak to the crew, but still it isn't nice to be hated.

Actually one of the cast was friendly with us; she found the hearts very funny but didn't want any of the rest of the cast to know. She also hung out with us at the after-party and actually spoke to us and if it weren't for her I think I'd have written off the entire production as a lesson in what never to get involved in again.

Wow, sorry guys, epic post.

Dear Frog Thread,

Last night I went to an 18th birthday party. I was expecting to become very, very angry at them for being awful at being drunk and such but instead I found myself being angry at them for not being drunk enough and just generally boring.

No matter what, I just cannot get a handle on Kids These Days.

Also one of them was wearing an honest-to-blog lace-up shirt.

This is pretty much the reason that I only participated in one musical ever when I was in highschool. The student-director was also one of the better dance students and she was pretty much a raging C word. Then again, since I was an extra most of the time I didn't show up for most of the songs since I was in the back. I also didn't show up for the curtain call on the final night. I was out skateboarding in the back.

I had a pretty fun weekend. I own a new pair of jeans and also a really nice leather jacket. Also airsoft guns. My sister, her roommate, and some friends and I are all gonna go play zombie wars on sunday nights until I leave.

Just back from the vet with the younger dog, Polly.  She had caught a fish hook in her lip when walking by the river; and when I went to cut off the barb after returning home it appeared to have vanished, with the yard of line attached.  We took her to the vet for an X-ray, thinking she had managed to dislodge it and swallow it, but it turned out that it was still in the lip, deeper embedded, and she had swallowed the line (which was still attached, and just pulled straight out again).  The vet had to cut her lip a bit and cut the hook into three pieces to remove it.  She is a good dog and didn't require any sedative for this.

What do you mean "sort of"? Is the puppy okay? Will it require surgery? Are you going to have to get it put down? If it was just kind of grazed by the car and scared and injured but not seriously hurt it might be a really good thing: the puppy will learn to avoid cars in the future.

might be a really good thing: the puppy will learn to avoid cars in the future.

Truths. My dog did that once when she was a puppy. Never ran out into the street again. It basically trained her to be off her leash and stay by my side at all times.

I hope you puppy's ok.

Guys, I am stressing out about work. Someone who has been a big problem with me(ie workplace bullying/stupid drama for no reason/she calls me "stupid" regularly for no reason/she is a cunt to me for no reason.) Is getting promoted, and is going to be my boss. Obviously, I take issue with this because she regularly treats me like crap. We used to be friends, and then once I got a boyfriend she turned into a bitch. She isn't more skiled than me, or works more hours than me. She is just really good friends with the boss(that is why she got hired. They were friends beforehand). I'm not so much upset that she got picked over me, but the fact that she has bullyed me in the past and now she is going to be my boss.

On top of that, they've been training me to work in our buff room(we buff out stratches on cds! Also, the previous mentioned person has repeatedly said that they send people they don't like to buff, so no surprise that I'm there), and I'd be totally cool just doing that. But as of right now there is no official call on that.

Bah! Work stress is stressing me out.

Tip: eat and sleep. Today I passed out in a lecture and it was rather embarassing.

Tip: Make nice with your professor. The class I'm taking this semester has 14 people in it and I've slept through about 1/2 of the lectures. My professor hasn't said a single thing to me about it.

Sort of meaning he was sent flying through the air a good twenty feet and bounced off the pavement (according to my father, who was there when it happened).

Fuck. I have no idea if he's alright or not because I can't afford the vet (it's not even my dog, it's my father's, but I still think of him as mine), and he never whimpers or whines for anything.

Hey blog thread. Tonight I had dinner with A Boy and then I drew some chibis for him for a band poster he's making. It was Good Times.

I'm jealous. I currently have a stupid crush on a married local musician. I think it's mostly that he makes awesome tunes and he talks to me all the time. And he's kinda hot. Also one of his songs might be in an "upcoming Steve Buscemi movie" and I fucking LOVE Steve Bushemi.

What about orgasmic chemistry.

I can expand the definition of that if anyone wants to roll around to my Fortress of Love.

After work today I went skating with one of the Toowoomba Derby girls and she taught me falls and stops and we skated around and now my legs hurt from making myself fall and getting back up.

Skating is AWESOME.
