congratulations, that is totally bitchin!

also, semi-related: I GOT A KITTEN. It can't be more than 4-6 weeks old and it was wandering around by my mailbox in the rain yesterday morning. Naturally, I rescued it (and oh how happy it was to be rescued; as soon as I got down tried talking to it, it started sqeaking loudly and bounding towards me, d'awww).

It seems to be healthy and flealess, which is good. Also the thing has got no fear; I thought about naming it Murdock (aka Daredevil), even though it 's a girl but it just doesn't fit.

So...what should I name it? I don't want to fall into the pit of indecision I was in last time this happened and end up with another cat called "Little Cat"

I am so nerdy that I initially misread SWM's "Murdock" comment as "murlock," until I saw the Daredevil part, at which point it all made sense because I know entirely too much about Matt Murdock.

Yeah, I have no idea what to name my dog, either. His current shelter given name is Sammy. I orginally wanted to call him Cerberus, but my boyfriend wants to give him a more video game based name since his cats are named after Final Fantasy characters.

I am sooo super excited!!!!! My brain is malfunctioning.

Man, how can you get more gamer oriented than naming a pet Cerberus?! Hell, there's a final fantasy spinoff game named Dirge of Cerberus! Shamelessly stealing names from mythology and using some fancy ass latin phrase to name your guild/clan/goldfish is the stuff of gamer cliche these days. If anything, it suffers from being too obvious!

SWM: I had a mouse one that was totally fearless, I named her Buttercup after the Powerpuff girl. She also had a sister who would wander everywhere when we let her out, I named her Dora (the explorer). Think along these lines!

Also Emaline I think Dogs should have good, strong, one or two syllable names that you can call. Can you imagine yelling 'Cerberus' across a park? Or even Cerby? Awesome names for dogs are things like Jake or Sam or George (which can be stretched into things like Jakey, Sammy and Georgey).

I still think you should get it checked out though. Dogs are predatory social animals; being weak and displaying injury is a risky thing for them, so dogs tend to be pretty stoic. Anything that keeps a dog laid up for a while should be taken seriously; I've see farm dogs that have lost bits of their feet play it off like it was no big deal before.

I just got a shiny new piece of plastic photo I.D. in the mail. It's a "Working with children" card. Basically a police check - for kids! Or rather for people who want to work with kids.

I had to get it because I'm still volunteering three out of every four Saturdays with the Sudanese kids in the western suburbs. I have to get up at around 8:15 on Saturday morning which means I can't go out late on Friday night, and then I have to ride my bike to the train station and then catch a train into the city and then change lines in the city and catch another train out from the city to the suburbs and then get back on my bike and ride from the train station out there to the place where the kids and the other volunteers are and then I hang out playing with the kids and the other volunteers for an hour and a half (and trying to get the kids to do homework) and then I come home and I'm very tired . . .

. . . And I love it. I absolutely adore it. It's so much fun and everyone's lovely and I'm meeting some really nice people and the kids are gorgeous. Last weekend I went there and literally as soon as I walked in the door this little kid I'd been hanging out with the week before, he's probably about 6, ran up to me shouting "Harry! Harry!" and he practically jumped into my arms, he was so happy to see me. And that was only the second time he'd ever met me!

Probably. Or someone else does. Bear in mind that there were only 15 hazards in the hazard perception test and you get reaction time scored from 0-5. The lowest I got was 3, so I probably wouldn't die, just create an insurance claim  :-D

Dear blog thread,

Took Becca out to see New Moon last night. The only positive thing I have to say about it is that some of the special effects were definitely striking. That and Becca at least liked it. We're still working shit out, by the way. She tried to break up with me tonight because she apparently hasn't seen the progress we've made. Damn the both of us for our pessimism. Our pessimistic moods don't even coincide so that just winds up with one of us crying and the other feeling terrible for even suggesting a breakup, and then both of us feeling guilty for doing shit to jeopardize our recovery efforts.

In other news, out of all of my friends (including Becca and my flatmate Chris), I'm second place in terms of FPS ability on CoD: Modern Warfare 2. Feeling pretty boss about it. The only reason my friend Potter keeps beating everybody else is because he is a little bitch and keeps using his thermal scope. All I use is ironsights, a red dot sight, or my damn ACOG scope, and I'm on average only 200-300 points behind him on a 4-player free-for-all with the score limit at 5000. Pretty sure that seals my rank as #1 in terms of actual ability, heh.

I've got 4 gigs scheduled next month. I have one each day over the course of a 3-day event, and then the final gig is on the 12th, but unrelated to the others. The first three are meant to achieve three goals. The first objective is to promote my friend Hank's guitar school. I'm going to start teaching there, and we're all gonna need students if this thing's gonna work. Second thing is to promote me as a teacher. The other two people playing at the event are already teachers at the school, and they already have a few students. They'll be looking for more students, I'll be looking for my first students ever. Third goal is to sell some of Hank's CDs to raise money for Hank to get newer, bigger, better recording gear. He plans on using it to showcase musically talented people in Sitka. There's a lot of them here, and he's a guy who loves anything homemade. Got a lot of respect for him, he's got balls.

Life is improving steadily. I think maybe I can stick out this 'crippling depression' thing by myself for once in my life.

Love,
Me!

See, that would work with people who have half a brain. That would not work on workaholics who think everyone should be just as obsessed with their jobs as he/she is. I'm pretty sure the only way I could leave and not be fired is if the building caught on fire or was hit by a meteor or eaten by Godzilla. I've only got 15 minutes left, but I'm hoping for Godzilla so I could be like,"Sup, dude. Lookin' pretty huge today. Carry on."

Last night I was juggling about three things in my hands while I was walking to the train station after work and in the melée I did not notice I had dropped my iPod until I was about 200m down the road. I turned around and scoured the road but could not find it, and I was just ready to give up when a nice fellow in one of those fluorescent workman's vests called towards me, and handed me back my iPod. It turns out he was driving the street-sweeper that had been going past as I was cocking around in my bag and he noticed the iPod fall out, so he quickly hopped out and grabbed it and went off after me.

Dear blag,

So Becca finally admitted that she cheated on me (damn it I knew it, I even told her I suspected her of cheating on me, what was I thinking) and she finally had me talk to Bret, her Other. He and I had an information exchange at her request. It would appear that he's no longer interested. Neither am I, to be quite honest. The shitty thing is that I still love her. I wanted to share my entire life with her, and I still do, but it can never happen because she just refuses to stop cheating, stop lying.

Going down to Planned Parenthood soon as I can exclusively for the sake of having them test me and make sure I don't have something. Because it'd be a damned shame to not only lose something I want more than anything, only to 'gain' something horrible and not even know it until it was too late.

Guess that's what I get for sinking every single shred of my emotional energy into somebody. Not thinking I'll ever do that again. Not in this lifetime.

Love,
Me!

Blog Thread, sometimes people are wonderful!

Yeah, I once lost my wallet and cellphone on a train headed towards london while I was going towards manchester. Someone found them and returned them, leaving me all my valuables and cards and stuff. People can be really good.

They did take those five pounds though.

Patrick.

I'll always be here for you, even when you're so far away...so distant and cold to me.

Hey blog thread,

Guess who has two thumbs and just heard his roommate having sex.

This guy. This guy right here.

Man, when I was in college this would be a daily occurrence for me.

When I was living with Jimmy it would be a daily occurrence for him.
He learnt to play Xbox really loud.

Luckily, even though I've been in the same apt or house as people having sex, I haven't had to hear it. One day, I hope I can return that courtesy.

Turkey day was a success!

What is creepy is hearing the people in the appartment below where you live having sex while you're in the shower.

So, guys, I've been to a Shakespeare play today for school. It was quite cool.
I am now in an on-but-mostly-off relationship with a girl. I'm quite happy with that.
I am going to two concerts next week, which will be quite pleasant.
And, I chose what program I'll take in CEGEP (Pre-university programs in Quebec). I am going to do a double DEC (Diplome d'Etudes Collegiales) in Science and Music. So, until application time, I will take advanced music theory classes evry two weeks after school. + I'm going to practice my instrument a lot more if I want to be serious, my instrument being the violin, I am going to work a lot more.

So, yeah, it's quite fun!

Anthony.

You're going to Marianopolis??  Or do they offer the science/music thing elsewhere as well?
