note: if you add the smily face to the end of any post no one can get mad, it's like that rule in Texas where if you say "bless her heart" or "bless his heart" before, you can say anything thying you want about someone
e.x. "bless his heart, he's so dumb he can't help it."

I enjoy the hell out of a lot of jam bands and that's a very strange thing because I'm not one for recreational drugs stronger than Wild Turkey. :) I think what really gets me about the jam bands that I really dig is their flexibility. Phish and their legendary Halloween concerts instantly come to mind. These days both moe. and Umphrey's McGee stand out to me as groups that carry out this music chameleon act. Just listen to Umphrey's set from last year's Bonnaroo, very solid stuff. I just don't see other groups in more codified genres being able to cover both Talking Heads and Metallica that flawlessly.
I'm also biased because most jam bands have very open policies towards concert taping, and since I dabble in the taping thing I wind up going ot see a lot of jam bands.
