Music Used To Calm People Down

SpacemanSpiff:
The Flying Luttenbachers. There's nothing like some noisy, extremely complex, spazzy avantgarde jazz to chill out.

...also Sigur Rós, Mogwai, One Man And His Droid (at least Ou est le Magnetophone), Aereogramme,  June of 44, Do Make Say Think, Berg Sans Nipple. And some other stuff.

KharBevNor:
Gah, how could I forget My Dying Bride? I find 'Turn Loose the Swans' incredibly relaxing (not to mention almost incomparably beautiful). Though it has to be on low so you don't get blasted bolt upright by that bit in the middle of 'The Snow in My Hand'.

rawrXskittles:
It's like "this is nice...ahh...I figured out the meaning to life! It's AAAA HOLY CRAP SO LOUD!! What was I thinking of? o_O"

This pretty much happens to me every time I turn on my "ultimate playlist" and it goes from Yesterday's Feelings to Box Of Sharp Objects. BAM! Loud.

Maui:

--- Quote ---I like Switchfoot, aethism be damned. Christian rock is a moot point...but Switchfoot is nice.
--- End quote ---

Ahhhh Switchfoot makes my ears bleed.......

KharBevNor:
Turn Loose the Swans is fiendish. We're talking 24 minutes of insanely slow, meticulously composed, beautiful music. Guitars don't even come in till about ten minutes in. Then, suddenly, Aaron just bellows in anguish and the blastbeats start.

Fuck, but My Dying Bride is so awesomely goth, and yet metal as hell. Great stuff.

"I had watched the snow all day. Falling.
It never lets up.
All day falling.
I lifted my voice and wept out loud,
"So this is life?".
