New to Indie!

Houn:
Ok, I've been listening to Broken Social Scene's Self-Titled tonight.  I was first listening to it on my computer speakers, and was thinking, "WTF?  This blows..."

So I turned it off.  Went about my night, ran into the new Blog post by "Marten", and thought, "Huh, well, let me bust out my headphones".  Nothing spectacular, some Sony Pro Studios (Leftovers from my video-editing days in College), and threw it back on.

A few tracks still sound a bit muddy, (1, 2, and 10 coming to mind), but overall, I'm really enjoying this album.  LOTS of great sound melding together, and great energy to it.  Good Stuff.

Destroy them.

Hehe, it was a joke.  But, if it's not Punk or at least fast and offensive, the individual in question calls it whiney and emo. ;)

I did get him listening to The Soft Bulletin, though, lol.

Just don't start of with Bjork, I mean I had a friend who scared someone else of any sort of indie music by doing that. Bjorks something you've got to ease into slowly.

Not that I'm hating on punk, but the whole scene has been very stale for a long time with only a handfull of decent bands.
