I wish I still had an N64.

The only one I ever owned was given to me for free by a guy who worked in a used-game place. I went in one day and he was just like "Go ahead and take it, I don't care". Apparently it had just been brought in for trade but had not been put through the system yet.

The weird thing is, I actually still have my N64 and all of my games but not any controllers for it. My mom probably made me get rid of them after I got my Gamecube and PS2 because... well, I don't know why. See my comments about my old NES in the Classic Console thread. Plus my N64 is at home anyway, so I don't have it here with me in school.

But yeah, I'm actually experiencing periods of serious nostalgia for Ocarina, and if there weren't so many other games I needed to finish I would probably download it from the VC in a moment of weakness and go through it all over again.

All I know is that I will get good with everyone who uses a Sword, and not because I'm some sword fanatic but because I am a default attack range whore in every other fighting game ever made. Also Ike looks really badass.

Agreed Narr; I'm one of Those Guys: I played Marth to death 'cuz he's fast and has a disjointed hitbox for stupidly good priority. I naturally gravitated to him and Sheik right away because they're so fast and let you bulldog lesser players to death rather quickly. I really felt like a douche when it turned out that they were some of the upper tier characters in the game and had been routinely using them exclusively against my friends.

Haha dude I totally know what you mean. When I play Capcom fighters, I refuse to use Ken and Blanka and Chun-Li just because they are who "everyone" uses. I need to figure out who the non-top tier fighters in King of Fighters games are just so I can get good with them. As of now, I'm pretty sure everyone I'm good with is considered top-tier.

That sticker thing is amazingly dumb. Is that just for subspace emmisarry or multiplayer?

If its for multiplayer, then its unfair. The person who owns the game will put all the good stickers on THEIR character, and everyone else will just suck it I guess.

The sticker thing is all kinds of brilliant. Especially the way you can lose them. I think the only issue will be getting used to a faster Peach in the single player and then losing miserably against anyone because I'm not used to her being slow.

Ike is specifically referred to as a heavy character, so he'll probably be slower than Marth and maybe even slower than Roy. Still, I can state definitively for the record, having played both of the games he appears in, that he is a fucking badass. I hope one of his alternate costumes is his armor from his final class change, because it looks awesome. Marth was my go-to character in Melee as well, so I hope he isn't cut. I mean, with the DS remake of the first Fire Emblem game there'll finally be a game with Marth in it coming out in the States soon.

Yeah, I became rather fond of Ike in Fire Emblem. I've seen FE boards where people whine that he's really unlikeable because he comes across as stiff, honor bound, and generally just kind of wooden in general... which is basically all the reasons I liked the guy. He's a bit dour but not a whiner, and generally doesn't seem to get excited about things without having good reason. I mean, shit, it's not like I play these games for a super deep plot, and if need a guy to be dorky comic relief there's always Boyd, who also happens to be a premier one round killer. Besides, Ike tears it up in the late game of POR and is just a flat out monster in Radiant Dawn. I completely agree that I wish his Radiant Dawn appearance had been used as a character model; he makes more sense as a heavy when he's a full adult, since speed is something he caps consistently in the first game but not so often in the second, plus he just looks more like a bad ass.

Yeah, I found the official art back before the english release on some Japanese site, and it was a real bitch to find so I saved it myself. Here you go. And actually, I neglected to save anything else, since I was really only interested in showing my sister how much different he looked at the time.

The fact he's a heavy character is awesome, to me. I am usually really good with heavy characters in most fighters, Smash Brothers being no exception. Ganon and Bowser rocked ass. Now they'll have one with lots of sexy range.

If they straight-up made Potemkin a character, you guys would have to fear.

I'm a little confused about the wording on Manaphy's description:

Just looking at Jigglypuff's move list for the actual Pokemon games, Hyper Voice sounds like it has a good chance to be a Final Smash. Besides which, the Smash Bros. implementation of any Pokemon moves could be significantly different and more powerful, considering Rollout and Rest are ridiculously powerful in Melee and not so much in Pokemon.

In answer to my own question above. the only thing I can think of that is plausible is that jigglypuff evolves, making it stronger faster and all around more powerful for a set amount of time, similar to wario's final smash.

I've heard some pretty convincing logic that the last third party will be Sora, from Kingdom Hearts.
- he's iconic and popular enough
- square and nintendo have been having a secret relationship for years now. there are love-children. (ff3 for ds anyone?)
- he's VERY smashbrothersy. there's a huge list of moves that would make sense for him.
-also, KirbySora. Kirby with a keyblade is cooler than Kirby with sonic dash, sorry.

Besides that, when's the last time a Megaman game was very popular? I mean, sure, sonic's been out of the limelight for awhile, but he's still sonic. Megaman was never the center of attention like he was.

also, flying yoshi is cool, and so is Snake's lightgun game. The only one so far that I've been actively disappointed by was Zelda.

God, I hope not. Kingdom Hearts was one of the only games I've stopped playing because I just couldn't stand it anymore. Plus, if the contributions from Sonic Team and Kojima Studios are any indication, Sakurai will ask the developers for input, and nearly everything that Tetsuya Nomura has touched for the past half dozen years or so has been pretty shitty.
