but maybe I'm reading too sympathetically.
That said, I am sympathetic because I am a wearer of hearing aids, specifically this, which is one of the lowest-profile aids of its quality on the market:

The idea of public interest in fashionable hearing aids actually really appeals to me. I'm not into lobe stretching, per se, but it seems like public awareness/acceptance of deafness and hearing aids as more than just an old people's thing can only be good.
