I dunno if I am the only one getting kind of sick of this kind of thing. All it does for democrats is prove how stupid some conservatives are (which most are already convinced of by now, yes?), to conservatives it just solidifies the belief that democrats are smug elitist assholes. The interviews are obviously cherry picked, their sole intent is to display that people who think Sarah Palin is awesome are stupid (which we already know, don't we?) and I'd bet my left arm you'd find morons at a book signing by Obama too, shouting hope and change louder than everyone and no having a clue what they're promoting. So what's the point of this again?

Man, I clicked on the reply link at least three times to say exactly this, but then I figured I didn't want to start a legit discussion in the pointless thread.

Disagree.  It emphasizes how ineffective American liberals are at getting their message out to a huge swathe of Americans without appearing patronizing and remaining unheard, and, perversely, how effective FOX has been in filling the gap.  You'll recall that part of the Clinton mythos was his ability to reach the American south and midwest with a liberal message and be heard.

I can't get enough of interviews like this, frankly.  Not because it allows me to feel superior to those interviewed, but because it reiterates how ineffective liberals are being in this new era of balkanized media.

I don't think they presented all the questions they asked, and I think they excluded some of the more eloquent answers. Maybe I'm just paranoid, though.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they edited out more informed answers.  Nevertheless even if there was some malicious intent, there is no reason why we can't get something positive out of this and other interviews like this.  While most liberals have a fair idea what Glen Beck and his ilk are saying (if only because of the play their antics get on shows like Olbermann's and Stewart's) the far Right seems to be superbly adept at putting words in the mouths of the liberal media and the administration that are outright lies.

I drew lightning personified and got an expressionist portrait back.

I've now drawn a close up face shot of Santa with the lyrics of Otis Redding's Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song) in the background.

(speaking from my experience with church youth group/media funding anyways)

Christian side hug?

Things like this remind me that what I consider 'reality' and 'normal' is very, very different than huge chunks of the population.

It scares me, to be honest.
